I have two pieces of metal furniture made by Simmons Co. One is a chest of drawers and one is a wardrobe with drawers on one side and hanger on the other. I have researched extensively on the internet but cannot find any info. I emailed the only Simmons Co listed but have not had a reply.
These pieces are finished to look like wood, and they both are on casters. On the back is stamped scheme 175 and 11-40. I am only looking to see when they were made. I expect they may have been made for hospitals or instutional use since they are very mobile and would be fire proof. Very nice pieces. Thanks :)

Am also finding references to Norman Bel Geddes (rather than the 'John' mentioned above) in regards
to metal furniture for Simmons. 1930's period.
Here are just two of the ones I found...
