Title: Old Colony Pewter
Post by: hosman321 on December 09, 2010, 12:16:29 am
I'm having a bit of a hard time finding info about this company. I'm trying to see how long they were in business. I bought a beat up little pewter dish from the Goodwill today for $.99. I'm just curious if it was made in the 30's or the 90's, ya know? I realize it's probably only worth the $.99 I paid. This is the only item I have found that gives a date but it doesn't give any info. Thanks!

PEWTER HOLLOW WARE-NAMELY, DISHES

On Monday, February 11, 1974, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for OLD COLONY PEWTER.   Status Date:  EXPIRED 3/4/1996

Hosman, if this is the same Old Colony, then your dish is 1974 at the earliest and 1996 at the latest.

DARN. Another candleholder I guess. :P Funny that person thought 1930's. I did get a pretty transferware bowl that's from the 40's, so I guess that makes me happy. :)
