Another dandy tale from talesof !!!

It's always a pleasure to restore such finds to the owners/family members !

I've got 2 gold championship  footballs (for watch-fobs , etc. ) from the captain of the Wisconsin football team , champs in 1925 & 26' (I think , but don't have them in my hand right now) , but altho he's been dead for some years , his family doesn't want them back !? Kind of an unusual response for such things , but I still think it's worth trying to return to the 'originals' .
Guess I'll just sell them for the gold ?

Hey there mart !

Just hit & miss for a long time here & elsewhere .....
Still tending to a very ill fellow , which leaves me little free time to do much ... he's due to go to some hospice joint soon , though , so maybe I'll be around more (& get back to having a life of my own !!!) in a few months .

I'm still not sure about the item in question , esp. since I have never seen one in use ... just heresay from a shop owner , decades ago ...

Perhaps it could also have been a 'counter-top' ice container , from a saloon/speakeasy , as the sides are tilted to 'drain' condensation .
Saw something like this in a shop in Kansas City , in the 1980s , if memory serves ; that one had another 'pan' it was sitting on , without a drain .... inside it had a perforated piece of stainless to keep the ice out of the drain-water .

I don't know what it is for certain , but that's my guess !

Hey folks ....

Still been wrapped up with taking care of a sickie , perhaps soon to be hospice .

All this takes up almost all of my time , so , hence my absence , & missin' ya'll !

Hey there mart !

I keep skulking around here , but I'm usually far too late to post anything ,since all y'all are much quicker on the draw & active than this old guy !

Have been far too busy caring for a very sick person & that takes up almost all of the free time available .

Maybe next year I'll get back to being a 'regular' again ( I hope !!!) .

This cool little item may also have been used for balms , unguents & such .
(for skin , hair)

Looks like a fairly modern item (which I don't know the value of) , June .

Perhaps a search of Ebay will give you a pretty fair idea of , as to what the value is ?
