I'd say $30 would be a lot more realistic. At this price point, any restoration would be plus. For the record, I think your efforts yielded a beautiful result.

Antique Questions Forum / Mart?

Hi there:

Mart has been a stalwart member of the forums for many years. Several months ago I messaged her, with no reply. I realize that most of the old school members have left the site for whatever reason, but I always thought that Mart would be the last to go. Nevertheless, I haven't seen any posts from her for quite awhile.  Has anyone been in contact?

Hi Eirwal:

This look like an 1890s walnut platform rocker. I don't know how many would have been produced, but this was not a one-off.

Jacon started a thread on the "other" site titled "My final post." He's had surgery and heart issues.

I hate to say it, but it's virtually deserted. I just saw a post that has six layers of spam.

Jacon is evidently having serious health issues; I don't know if we'll see him again.

That leaves about 3 of us.

TWO layers! It's Spamarrific!  ;D

What KC said. Great time to sell a house, but you've got to live somewhere, and its a bad time to buy. Another housing bubble?

I'm not sure that a lot of folks even know the difference between antique and not.  I'm just glad our house is more or less where we want it, furnishing-wise. Prices do seem to be going up, but as of yet not nearly enough to offset the losses we've suffered over the last 10 years.

Economic instability. Good gosh! What's it good for? Absolutely nothing! :)

A response to a 14 year-old post. Seems like this place has just given up on eliminating spammers.

Highs in the 90s further north, too, although things are getting more seasonal now. Too early is right!
