Victorian engraving 'The Tambourine Player' 1840???
« on: October 01, 2010, 07:13:31 am »
Please could anyone give me some information on the engraving i have. I have researched for a few months and not managed to find anything as to the origin and value. All i am aware of is that it was past down to my family from an Italian uncle whom said it was valuable. I am aware of the popularity of the 'Tambourine Girl's' and although it has the information handwritten on the reverse i am not sure if this is the case. I haven't yet cleaned it although i know it can be cleaned up easily i do not want to damage it in any way.

Please find attached photos. (p.s. i have not yet opened this picture as i thought that removing the paper and opening it up would effect the value?

Regards,

Lee Henstock

p.s. will opening the paper cover at the back lesson its value? I feel it may be the only way to find out? ???

HI!  Welcome!

What are the dimensions of the print? the frame?

Don't remove the back!!!!!

Wait and see what kind of response you get from those on here!

I just wish I could see the pic a little better.

Can you try another pic - without a flash?  Close up?  Thanks!
