Title: Updated: Vintage Glass plates, who made these and what are they worth?
Post by: ldretzka on February 16, 2012, 11:42:04 pm
These small plates don't have any feet just your typical plate bottoms with a round edge.  Top surface is smooth, bottom of the plates have the pressed in pattern.  I though they might be from a much earlier (1930-1940) since the estate sale I bought them at had many older pieces and things.

Has anyone seen this pattern of glass plates?

Hope these updated pictures help see the pattern better

I got these plates about 20years ago at a estate sale in Buffalo NY.   I know they are old, I think they are depression glass but would like to ask the experts here for your input.  Have you ever seen these plates?  Who made them (no marks on them)?  How old are they and what would they be worth?

They are 8.25" wide and completely clear.

Thanks for any help you can offer!

Explain what we are looking at !! Is this a footed plate ?? What is the center circular pattern ?? Is the top completely smooth ??  At that size and from what I can see,, they appear to be part of a snack set from around 1960 or so !! Just pressed glass that was sold in most department stores !! The individual pieces of this pattern (shapes) can appear in many different sets just in different positions !!

For sure not a typical Depression pattern, does look like mid to late century pattern glass though.  Almost looks like Anchor Pres Cut pattern, but not quite.
