Antique Questions Forum / Re: newcomb college

Can you post a picture of the bottom mark(s).  My first reaction was with D&B.  That's not typical of Newcomb College.  I hesitated to say anything because that's not my area of interest or semi-expertise.

Almost typical of the art world fanatics with more money than common sense.   ::)

Slag glass ceiling hanging shade.  Quite a common design and most were unsigned.  All different sizes were available.  Very pretty color glass that would give off a warm yellow/goldish hue.

Probably an advertising piece stuck to a filing cabinet utilized back in the pharmacy dept of an old drugstore.  Many old post card holders I've seen were good sized heavy wire 'ferris wheels' with which the cards were put where riders would have sat and the customer would turn the wheel to view the various cards available.  I doubt any retailer would want a customer thumbing through cards in a cabinet.

Measure and give sizes on the individual pieces.  On pottery, photograph the bottom if marked in any way.

Lots of different places where the numbers need to match.  There are Luger websites that could answer all your questions.

Well, I wouldn't call it 'junk'.  I'm assuming the pictures are decals?

Antique Questions Forum / Last Native American bronze.

This one is unsigned or numbered.  I think it's older than the other two posted.  I mounted it on a redwood slab and it hangs on the wall.  Anyone got a clue as to artist or any other info?  I don't believe it's one that was mass produced.

If he is living, have you thought about trying to contact him directly? Most artists are very happy to hear from people who admire their work!
I don't think he's living or he's a darn near a ghost.  Very difficult to find out anything about this guy.  I'm always on the lookout for other pieces he's done and never find any for sale or even observation.

I wasn't so crazy about the first one, but this one is really neat. Love the "edgy" look he has to him with the paint around the eyes and the spear. Lots of personality. I didn't have any luck finding anything on the artist though.
A rare artist.  A univeristy in California has some of his creations but wouldn't elaberate on history or where they got them.  He was shown in a museum in Oklahoma City years back.  Supposedly, a real expert regarding equine sculpures.  I've never been able to find any other examples of his work for sale.  Why he isn't listed is a mystery to me.  There is no paint on this sculpture.

This one stands about 6" counting the spear.  Riley is the artist and he is unlisted.  Very well done and well detailed.  Dates in the 1970's.  Very tough to find out anything regarding Riley except he lived in Oklahoma.  It too is numbered.

This is a quasi-vintage sculpture (mid '80's) from a listed artist (Peter Fillerup).  It's numbered and dated.  It stands about 10" tall and is very heavy.  Any ideas of possible appreciation or current value?

Very tough to surmise anything without measurments or what it's made of.  I do know fire departments had loud speakers long ago to bark orders from the captain to the fighters. ???
