H&R Johnson, don't the year of a round tile
« on: March 03, 2010, 02:46:45 am »
Hi Everyone,

I have a round tile glazed H&R Johnson but there is no year on it.

It is not flat surface it is all carved in( I hope I use the correct word ). It has a beautiful blue bird. I attached a picture of it.

Is there any indices to know a bit better the year it was made? ???

Welcome Baggins.   Is it possible to get a pic of the back side and the hallmark the indicates is as being made by H&R Johnson.  It is a wonderful looking tile, I assume it is a Enameled Glazed pottery.  The clues to it age may be on the back.  Again Welcome and thanks for sharing.

Thank You very much!

I took 2 pics of the back. in case you cant read it ,it says  "H & R JOHNSON Ltd" on the top line and I think the bottom line is clear but anyway it says MADE IN ENGLAND, in capitals, like that.
It seems like it was stuck to something as some stage but i think it was fabric...anyways the glue doesnt want to come off!!
It is glazed. The surface isnt flat so i guess it came from a mould, but then again i dont really know... :)
And thanks again.....

Thanks KC, ;)

I'm working on it, will take a long time to find out.

I'm still happy the name is on the back of it, also the tile could be made 2 years ago.

I will contact H&R Johnson Ltd, maybe someone might know what year it was made.
