Antique Questions Forum / Squirrel Fitch Ferret Weasel Ermine ????

I just dusted this one off and have been having a time trying to id it.
It is heavy, old and really weird (like me).
The pictures don't do it justice and I really am not convinced it's a "studio piece" a favorite answer when I'm unsure.
Any suggestions are most welcome, Mongoose?
