Title: limoges of france peint main
Post by: sugarcube on December 20, 2011, 01:58:05 pm
At my local thrift store yesterday, picked this up for 2.00 and of course my question is do you think it is authentic limoges?

I looked up as much as I could but this is not a trinket box obviously and many seem to be, but when I looked up limoges it seemed right.

Yes  this is authentic Limoges. peint main translates to painted hand  = hand painted Limoges France
The other mark is an artists mark of the painter of your piece, no clues or marks as to what factory it can be attributed to, this is not a trinket box but a very cute simple piece.

thanks so much wendy-exciting to hear, especially since it appeared they made tons of plates and trinket boxes.

I think it is a planter. Google "Limoges planter"
