Title: Oil Derrick Model
Post by: SkeltonKey on January 18, 2012, 05:20:18 pm
Hello Good People,
I have a scale model of an oil rig, or derrick, that was made by The Structural Display Co. Inc. It's from the mid 60's & it's in working condition again. Had to find some replacement electrical parts. My question is;
Is there a collectors market for these types of models?

I would say anyone interested in collecting oil drilling memorabilia probably is willing to pay a fair price for an unusual piece like yours.

As a sidenote: I once sold a patent model well drilling rig from about 1910. I remember getting about $800 for it.
