Title: What is this?
Post by: debodun on April 27, 2012, 10:23:57 am
I found this in a kitchen drawer of parent's home, so I suspect it's some sort of kitchen gadget although it looks more like something a doctor would use. It's all metal and 8" long and the end slides in and out. Any idea what it is?

It takes an ol' duffer to remember using these. Back when cream floated to the top of the milk bottle you needed something like this to dip it off.

Are there THAT many dairy/creamery items coming on the market recently?  Or is it just that dairy machinery inspires a great deal of "what the heck?"?

And yes, I'll sleep better too......

CuriousCollector, I think it is that more kitchens are getting "cleaned out" with the newer generations and inquiring minds are wanting to know.

However, I imagine many have been trashed because they figured they didn't need it.

Definitely a collectible as the years go by.
