Hi! I found this at a garage sale that seemed to mainly have antiques. I picked this up because of how beautiful it is. Any ideas if this is junk or an antique?
Thanks! ;)

fine china

Too dark and a bit too much background to see exactly what it is !! Is it a desk set with pen ?? Is ther a lid on top that opens to the compartments ??
-
Ceramic? Desk Set. Lady's shoe is the ink well.
Looks fairly modern..but then again the photo quality leaves much to be desired in helping out. Are there any makers
marks on the bottom?
-
Looked to me like a bottle of ink could sit on top of the shoe !! Looks like the size of the ink bottles of the 50`s !! My color was peacock blue ink !!
-
Yes, it is a desk set with the lady's shoe as the inkwell. It is fairly heavy...so maybe ceramic?
The bottom reads AM in capital...under that it says No 0206 and below that DP (which looks more printed by hand). The second picture is of the bottom...if you zoom in you can see the brand. The AM has an angel on it. Any ideas??

I ran some searches with no luck. It is a nice desk set. I don't see any signs of age on it though. It should have some darkening on the underside where it has been sitting on things year after year. It looks to clean and bright to be antique, but I would not call it junk at all. It looks quite nice! Are you sure that "angel" is not actually a mermaid? Isn't that a tail I see there?
-
Oh yes, it is a mermaid!

I have looked through all of my makers marks resources and couldn't find marks for this.
Am I correct that you are in the USA? No import information on it (which isn't saying much these days).

I have hit zero too, KC !! Looked for an hour this morning and best I had was a doll maker with the AM initials !! But he didnt make anything else !! Does it say if its china, porcelain, ceramic anything like that ???
-
It doesn't say where it is made and neither does it says what material it is.
Yes, I am in Ohio.
Oh well... ???

Take the pen apart - any markings/names on pen? Is there a pen cartridge in it? (Thus verifying it isn't old and for looks.)
