Title: Jimini Cricket! What is this?

Hi there! I've found some Jiminis on the web, but none looked as old as this fellow. Can you please help me identify him? His head is rubber, and about 8" long including dress

WDP is Walt Disney Productions.  I believe your hand puppet has had the "hand/glove" part replaced.  It should have originally had a printed "fake body" on the glove.  

Disney brought Jimini Cricket to life in 1940 and his popularity was 1950 - 1960.  

At that time Gund did make alot of items for Disney - including hand puppets.  HOWEVER, so did Pelham!!!!!  And unless you can find it actually shown....I would recommend your look at a Disney collectibles book to verify.  The one I found with a green head in an old book indicated a Green Head by Pelham but was a marionette.
