Title: Lava glaze bowl with signed name!

Hi there! I have this amazing little bowl, and its got a name on it I'm hoping someone will recognize. I think this is lava glaze, but I'm not quite sure. I don't want to let this go until I know all about it, because its an amazing design! Also, the photos just don't do it justice.

So I'd love an identification if you can, or an appraisal perhaps :)

Looks like Italy to me (iTALY). Possibly '89 the last portion? Definitely looks to be 80's style. Sorry I can't be of much more help. :(
