Title: Old Bottle
Post by: Noarth on September 27, 2012, 05:57:39 pm
Hi guys,
Anything about this bottle anyone knows or can point me in the right direction?  Is there much point in collecting bottles?  I have a few in a box in the garage somewhere but came across this one and decided to ask questions in case I find the other ones...lol
Thanks!

I don't think your bottle is that valuable. Please remove the lid so I can see the opening. Try washing the bottle a little so I can really see it better.

Yep !! Need to see without the top on !!  Its a screw top so probably 30`s or 40`s smaller at top makes me think it is a tonic bottle from a barber shop !! But it would be good size for that !!  Post the height please !!

Added the requested photos.. not sure why the bottle has a brown tinge to it but it's clear glass. It's also 6  3/4" tall if that's helps.

Many food type bottles will have a brown tinge !! Too small for tonic bottle !!  I think its a food type but what ????

I was hoping the markings on the bottom would be a clue but maybe markings on glass bottles aren't as important as they are on other things.  Is there somewhere to look them up?

just type in old glass bottles on google...and then think about how square your eyes are going to be after you have trolled through the thousands of different kinds.... ;)

The more numbers there are the newer the bottle. When patents started there was only one number used on the bottom.
