It's smaller, 6" tall....

thanks for your responses,  just couldn't believe it today when I looked at this thing one more time and a marking "suddenly" appeared.  Its on the top not the bottom where I looked for a long time.

But my old eyes can't tell what this is either, letters or a picture?

I am leaving this in the hopes Wendy logs on as Mart suggested thank you.

LOLOL  I thought Ornabac was what you were asking....I was gonna' tell you it was for the birds!  LOLOL

Now I see you were trying to give a solid background to see the makers mark!  :)

you made me laugh-yes, thats sure true, we are animal lovers here, two birds and two dogs....although I do everything for my birds they are content to just eat and look pretty.  Its a good job if you can get it I guess....

Sorry sugarcube5419  I do not recognize the mark and can't really tell what it is. I can tell you I do think it is an older piece c1800s  and looks to be of  Czech , Bohemian, Moser  STYLE glass vase. I would start your research in those  styles of glass, The shape is very unique. Look for that shape with different design or same painted design on different shape.  This could take you years to find a maker if ever. Good luck

much appreciated wendy, may I ask one last question, what is the shape of the vase actually called?  I thought that would be a good start too but I'm at a loss what this would be called.

I wish it could talk smile at you, thx
