Hi all, Avril and were at our monthly auction today...but could,nt stay for the whole day...Avril liked this piece..Side Cabinet, made of Mahogany, circa mid 19th century..in very good condition.and wanted to leave a bid on it...I,was,nt over enamoured with it..but she liked it,..it had a low estimate, £80/£120...she left a bid of £90 on it....but...she never got it...it sold for £100....a few years ago this piece would easily have made double that....

If I were Avril I'd be spitting nails right about now >:(

we have a saying over here...wits fur ye winnae go past ye....and thats the way its always been...we have a budget normally of around £100 per month..to spend..at this auction...whatever we don,t spend, rolls over to next month...so next month we,ll have £200.....and as she,s after brass bed ends, then its all the more to play with,

Very pretty piece of furniture, as long as you don't use it for fire wood! ;D ;D

I've never had the best luck in leaving bids at auctions. Auctioneers like to start the bidding where you wanted to end.
