Hello,
My wife bought this Iron at a garage sale a few weeks back and I can't seem to find a whole lot of information about this iron. Most I have seen have a rooster on the front of it. The only real marking on it is the letter "G" on the handle. It is 8 1/2 inches wide, 8 1/4 tall with the handle and 4 inches tall excluding the handle. Does anyone happen to know anything about this? Where it's from, what years, and a value to this type of Iron? Any help is appreciated!(http://i43.tinypic.com/wtrnk.jpg) (http://i42.tinypic.com/2zp5ooy.jpg) (http://i39.tinypic.com/bea4v7.jpg)

The ones I found with a similar design were either European or made in Mexico !! Only G I found was Grossag irons and not sure if it was an American or Canadian company !! Yours looks European to me !!

I was told some years ago that Mexico was the only place in NA that was still smelting "high phorporus" cast iron nowdays
