Title: todays find - display case from jewellers window?

ok busy day today and the best thing i found was this.

any ideas? Do you think it is a display case

size approx 12" x 8"

glass shelf inside

on reverse is J C Vickery

about them This was the firm of John Collard Vickery, an important and sucessful player in the retail side of the gold and silversmithing business in the early 20th century.

What is the frame made of,...as it is only 12in x 8in ..it has limited use,..it would make a nice pill box...

looks like card type cheap wood? however it has this thrilly lace type fabric. the door opens outwards ad has  aglass shelf inside that can hold about  3 ring in boxes on the shelf.

It is "quirky"

Nice little box , leeb2012 .

Perhaps a case for a scale & assay equip (I doubt it) ?

Display/presentation case for sure .... christening/loving cups , etc. ....

Have not seen one just like it , though .
