Title: Tek Sing China
Post by: BollyRob on June 04, 2013, 09:04:22 am
Hi everyone

I am trying to find reference to the original Tek Sing Cargo Auction in 2000 by Nagel. Does anyone know if a copy of the original hammer prices is available anywhere?

Cheers all

Rob

I had some from that. Still have the signed book though

You'll have to ask them , i think. Or join an auction results service like Invaluable.

Thanks for that Ipcress. I have emailed Nagal but unfortunately they have not come back to me. I have found loads of auction results for Tek Sing but I specifically want the original auction prices in 2000.

It must be out there somewhere!! :)

That's from the original catalogue and if you were a member you could see the hammer price. Subscription fee though.

Not sure why that is such an odd request but FYI, I want to compare prices now with original prices to see if they are increasing/decreasing and by what percentage.

I didnt buy from that sale but that is irrelevant. Comparing prices now with the original offering will give me a bench mark as to its price fluctuation over a decade.

From what i remember, the prices hadn't increased much if at all, even with the burgeoning market in Oriental porcelain

Thanks for the info. I might just take a punt on a job lot that I have been offered, works out around £6 ($10) per item, dont think I can go far wrong at these prices.
