Title: ROYAL China from l950's
Post by: Starlady_20002000 on February 14, 2005, 10:49:05 am

Looking for information on a  ROYAL China Pattern from the l950's

The patterns is........ GREEN / WHITE PLAID

The Markings on the bottom of the plates say:

         "ROYAL China   M  54    UNDERGLAZE "

My Great-Grandmother collected these dishes for me from a Corner Groscery Store.    I think they came in boxes of Soap Powders????

But I'm not sure.......But she did get a dish each week.......

Please help if you have any information.

they appear to be the work of sebring pottery of ohio. starting date1934. 1940's 1950's pattern. some patterns remain unidentifed. m-54 for example is a pattern number. sold in grocery stores one item a week. p.s. underglaze is used in there trademark.

A short search and I didn't find the pattern either  but if they were mine?  I'd keep 'em   Display them if you like retro/vintage items, but all it will take is a Martha Stewart or other show to feature them     Kinda' like the the green Fire King     Or even the Blue Ridge     Retro is popular
