Just got an email from a good friend and she needs my assistance in identifying this. For the life in me, I don't know what it is. So any help will be appreciated. First, i though it was a mask, but looking at the picture, it looks like the head of some animal. it has some inscriptions inside, i don't know what language is that either. Pew! lend a hand please. Thank you so much.

i want some of wat you,ve been taking..... ;D

looking at both halves, they look like they were made for putting an impression..onto paper or some other medium...due to the fact that one half slots into the other,

Chinese, i think. Petty about the damage to one side.
-
It looks to be a stamp or seal of some sort and the writing inside seems to be a form of Hebrew.
-
Right on, bigwull, ..... an embosser.
With results like so ..........

Woop! Yep! I think it's an embosser too. Thanks for all your help. Sad thing is that she doesn't know which county it came from. Hmm. I think one needs to make an impression with that to know what language it is in. Thanks so much for your help Appreciate it.

Ooh this looks really interesting :) I have posted the second photo on a translate site, hopefully someone will know what the language is! Will report back with any findings.

Excellent !! Thanks for helping !! Waiting to see what they say about it !! Its a curious thing !!

It's a military/government word, meaning governer, commander in chief etc. 帥 is the character apparently.
It may be in seal script http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_script (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seal_script) which excites me. They didn't know anything else, next step is to determine the material and go from there. Your friend is lucky, that would look perfect on my desk!

You should try it with piece of paper and see how it turns out.
