Anyone recall that bamboo purse that I posted about 2 to 3 years back? I bought it on ebay for £18 +pp (if I recall correctly, certainly was in that ballpark) and a couple of you quickly found similar ones?
One was on Ebay going for $500, but it was incomplete, it had a piece of dowl where the actual handle (very cleverly fashioned) should have been; and another one on offer for $2495 !!! http://www.jcollector.com/Japanese-Bamboo-Carved-Purse-Edo-p/ji97326.htm
(massive difference)
Well the incomplete one on Ebay just sold, $500 but best offer accepted!

I don't think we'll be selling ours, my wife has become too attached to it! But nice to see ... ;D
Are we allowed to gloat? ;)

It's not even being used as a purse, but to hold little bits and bobs!

mario I remember it. $500. I see why your wife became attached. ;D It was beautiful. The wood made it very different.

Thank you, Greenacres,
It is lovely and it was one of those ebay finds that I was talking about a while back re poor pictures. Unfortunately for the seller the picture was terrible and it just didn't get the attention, but for £18 I was happy to take the gamble. And $500 for one with a missing handle. The actual handle is quite intriguing.

It's nice just the fact it confirms the value of the purse and your wife gets to enjoy it. If she grows tired of it one day you have an option to sell. Maybe the value will grow with time.

Good Morning Greenacres ... She gets very attached to gifts, no matter how inexpensive, so I doubt she'll ever tire of it! :D
