I got this off of eBay as a Christmas gift for what I thought was a good price and was wondering the value. Then I come to this site and now am wondering if it is even an authentic mccoy. Help please! Also, what is the value, either way.

i,ve never seen a white strawberry cookie jar.....but i have seen loads of white strawberries....the y were dipped in white chocolate.... ;D

Yes your piece is an authentic McCoy cookie jar # 263 made from 1972 - 1979. This style was also made in 2 other colors but marked differently than the white berry. I'm not sure what you paid but the white authentic McCoy jar today would bring $80.00 - $100.00. There was another "Old strawberry" #54 made from 1955-1957 but painted in a totally different color than the 70s jars and different tops. Nice gift!!

Thank you! I paid $25, so quite the gift. I double posted this by mistake and on the other thread it is believed to be from the 70s. Is the difference the #263?

There are so many differences in cookie jars from year to year :D The differences -- your jar made 1972 -1979 # 263, color white, four line marking
"old Strawberry" 1955-1957 #54, different color (All deep raspberry & deep raspberry with white glaze at top) leaves on stem pointing down, two line marking.

I just reread your post and now realize that you did say it was from the 70s. How much are the #54 worth, do you know?

The 1950s jar #54 in this market $30.00 to $50.00. :)

Interesting, so mine is worth more :)
