I picked this piece up the other day at a thrift store because I felt it was something special. I've researched under every term I can think of yet I can't find anything. Does anyone have any clue what this is, it's true country of origin, the year it was made and it's value? It is about 5 inches tall. Thank you for your time.

You should try Russian instead.

Thank you. I am searching now, so far I still can't any that look like this.

It's like their Gzhel pottery but with a modern edge to it.
This is a piglet

The monogram you see is this on a keyboard " Л П " . In English that is L P. There was a Gzhel porcelain designer called L. P. Asarowa, or " Л. П. Азарова " in Russian.
Might be her, might be someone with similar initials.

Interesting info, especially on the monogram, I had no idea how to figure that out. I pulled up Chinese and Japanese alphabets is why I was thinking it was possibly from Japan. So the monogram Russian. So you think this is a more recent piece? This is interesting. Thanks :)

there is some more text round that mark. a closer image and we should be able to see the factory name

I had the magnifier out trying to figure out what it said. It's not legible enough for me, but then I have no idea about this pottery. The more I'm looking it up, the more I'm loving it. I appreciate all your help.

A bit too blurred. Can you take one outside or near a window ? Good, natural light helps with most cameras or phones.

Sorry, it looks blurred because it is. This is as good as it gets. I can't read it because it is not clear.

It does look alot like the Gzhel porcelain. Many other countries use the Cyrillic alphabet as well.
But the last time I was in Russia (many years ago) there were other makers of the blue/white porcelain coming out in Russia, Ukraine, etc.
