Hi, got this interesting item as part of a box lot, but have no clue what it is. It most closely resembles a doorknob, but ... is it really? The metal of the "knob" is not magnetic, but the threaded portion is. I'm assuming the bend is not intentional.
Any ideas appreciated!

Looks like a curtain tie back, should have been a pair & you're right the screw in part shouldn't be bent. But you didn't give me a size or scale, but it resembles ones I have sold in the store. GG

Oops, I meant to include measurements:
* Round portion is about 3" in diameter
* Shaft is about 3.5" long and 3/16" diameter

GG nailed it for you already

I realized after I said tiebacks that they could be picture hangers. Somewhere I have some really cool ones. You screw the double ended screw into the wall & then screw on the decorative piece. But with those dimensions it is definitely curtain tiebacks. GG

Think that's right !! Too thin for a doorknob !! Its probably brass !!

My first guess was tieback and I also thought about how they had hung vintage pictures with the knobbed hangers!

Thanks, I would never have come up with curtain tie on my own. Too bad I have only one of them. Maybe I'll think of a use for it some day.
