Have you tested it to see if in fact it is silver plate?

I haven't found them on any silver makers list!  Can't find any history or origin either.  Just a few pieces on the internet, ebay.  None of the pieces are marked silver.  Makes me wonder if it is a white metal.

Beautiful design!

I have the same question on these--how would I clean them up/I still have no idea what metal it is so something generic?

I'm finding bits and pieces of information for Norse Craft.  Seems they are from Norway and turn of the century.  They could be 800 silver.  I saw a pair that were.  If you rub a white tissue on them does the tissue turn black?  If so you have silver.  Clean them with a silver polish.

Silver polish will do for most metals !! Even brass !! Or you can use ketchup !!

Looks like polished pewter to me.  That would be pretty typical for Scandinavian design.  GG

oh my gawd--they must be something cheap because I took the goodwill tag off and the "silver" came off with the tag.  Rubbed the dang thing=nothing on the tissue--

these are actually pretty I thought until now I think they are cheap

Well I guess they aren't pewter!  :(  They are very interesting & just because the horrid tag pulled off some of the silver doesn't necessarily mean they are cheap, just that they are plated.  GG

Have a suspicion these are rip offs from the Far East trying to capitalise on the interest in Scandinavian silver.

Ipcress, look to see who has been here !! I think they give those that have been signed in last 15 minutes !!
I have to go with Ipcress here !! I have never seen even cheap silverplate do that !! Back in the 60`s and 70`s Scandinavian design was very hot and sold like crazy,, could be from that era !!
