That's true Mart. However, at this point you can leave as is or strip the paint off! Nice piece of the past!

Just regular paint stripper like for furniture might take the paint off without stripping the age from the metal if care is taken !! Use just old soft rags to rub off the stripper and paint !! Nothing that would scratch !! Test on the underside first !!
