Title: help needed with identifying trunk
Post by: AmandaWR on December 02, 2014, 04:21:22 pm
Hello everyone. I bought a trunk/blanket box and would like to be able to date it or know more about it. It has chinese style painted designs on the front and sides, a plain interior and unusual ring type hinges. Any ideas? Amanda

trying to work out how to post pics here! I took photos of the trunk and I have them on flicker but I can't work out how to put them on here! It has dovetail joints and no screws or nails, but wooden pegs holding it together. The hinges have no screws but are held in with pins that split on the inside. The interior is plain, looks quite rough (pine)  Ill put the photos up on my facebook page if thats any help! This is a link to the facebook post with the pics...

I'm not an expert on these but looks around at turn of the century. Maybe older.  Very nice!

If you can "copy" the 'direct url link' to your pictures, as you did above ......

you should also be able to ..... "copy" the 'direct img link' to your pictures and post them here via the "Insert Image" tab above.
