Title: Is This a real Hummel?
Post by: JeanneCurt on March 17, 2015, 08:45:56 am
Hi,
I bought this at an estate sale and thought it was a Hummel but noticed that there is the word "Loose" incised under the glaze.  Does anyone know what this is or if this is not a real Hummel.
Thanks for any information.
Jeanne

From what I see it is real and comes from a set of Goebel candle holders. As far as age of the piece I am not sure but that can definitely help your search.

The W for West Germany would place it after WWII but before the Berlin wall coming down.

From all guides I have found, the V with Bee and W Germany underneath places the piece made between 1960 - 1972.

These should help!
