Do you have any history on the piece?  Age? Country of origin? Are there any letters you can make out?  What do you think it says?

It could be French or Italian from 1920s I noticed that they put a patina over the terracotta to make it look like a brass. I can't figure out the signature this one is so difficult for me to find.

Try a pencil rubbing of the signature and see if that brings the letters out !!

Could be wrong, but it just has the look of the style I have seen from Italy.

Is the signature raised or indented?
