I have no clue what this thing is !! Best I can come up with is one of those roller foot massage things !! But somehow I do not think that's it !! Farm tool ?? Kitchen tool ?? Have found nothing !!

Maybe tis a “boat shuttle” for weaving rugs. ::) ::) ::) ::)

It is shaped similarly but there is no way to thread it and why the rollers ?? Its 16 inches long,, 5 in wide and 2 in deep !! Seems a little big for that doesn`t it ??

I was thinking that foot massage idea sounds pretty good! LOL
I was thinking it had something to do with textiles/laundry. A hand held mangle board.
-
My thoughts were like Cogar's as soon as I saw it! If not maybe what KC said! That's a stumper for sure!
-
It could come in handy in the kitchen when rolling out dough! :) One swipe gets alot done!
-
I am trying to find out what country this is in !! Maybe that will help !!
-
It sure looks like a multi-bobbin (closed bottom) boat shuttle to me ....
have not seen one like it !
All the multi-bobbins that I have seen have 2 bobbins (on the closed bottom type) & only seen one triple-bobbin shuttle , which was an 'open' type .
Call me crazy , but when I magnify the image from K's site , I see what looks like letters/numbers running across on the center roller/bobbin !
-
I totally agree it looks like a shuttle - but they said that the "rollers" do not come out and a shuttle would need to have those moveable wouldn't they?
-
As per the enlarged view provided by Fancypants (Reply #7) and the fact that it is “roughly 16 inches long by 5 inches wide by 2 inches deep” ……. and the fact that the sides of the unit are like ¼” higher than either end of the unit or the top of the roller surfaces within the unit ….. suggests to me that “something” of less than 5” in width was either pushed or pulled across the “rollers” in said unit with the high sides acting as “guides”.
Thus the rollers could function as “squeegees” or as “applicators” for whatever was moved across them.

Fancypants - To repost the original words from the owner - there are words on the middle roller:
Any information would be welcome as to what this item may be used for, and its value. The rollers are not removable. The centre roller has words on it, but I am unable to make out the full wording. It looks as though it ends "pay corporation".
-
They can't take a closer image of that central roller ?
Are they chained to the wall ?! :P
-
I asked if they could but they said they could not !! I assume it is not with them !!

wild guess but tobacco? I dunno, if it had water or flour in side and it applied it to whatever you run over it? Leather? Meat?
