New to this forum. Can someone help me out that recognizes this Nippon Tea Set. It was my Dad's. He just passed away and I am trying to research the value of the set. He didn't tell me what he paid for it. Please advise. Or if you could recommend how to do my own research that would be greatly appreciated.
Take care

Hi there !! Just posted a welcome to you !! Can you please post a pic of the mark on the bottom ?? That is what is important !! There are hundreds of Nippon patterns so no way we can tell much by looking at it !! "Nippon" just means "Japan" but maybe we can get an approx era of manufacture for you !!

The Morimura brothers were importers in NY !! That is what the M stands for in the mark !! This mark was used 1911 to 1921 !!
How many pieces are there in your set ?? The values are very reasonable since so much was made !!

You can look through these and see the asking prices !! Problem is,, none are selling at those prices !! On a good day your set would bring somewhere between $40. and $60. These imports have really taken a hit in the last few years !!
