Well...Mrs. Emily has this beautiful piece...and thought I would share. Any info? The only markings is a "5" on the back.

Looks to be refinished oak ca. 1910. Nice piece, but suffering from the brown furniture market depression, so probably worth $400-$500 in the midwest.

Here oak sells better than most other furniture !! Here would sell between $600 and $750. Its nice !! Not sure about the small pulls !! Looks like they may be replacements but can`t be sure !! Doesn`t enlarge enough !!

It is a beautiful piece. Oak sells better here in the NE too, so I would agree with Mart!

“YUP”, I agree with Mart, ..... I’m pretty confident that the “pulls” or “knobs” have been replaced.
And “YUP”, it is a really nice piece, ….. a Golden Oak “bowfront” sideboard with beveled mirror.
It might just be the photographs ??? ??? ???……but if not, ….. it looks to me like whoever “refinished” it, …. stripped the old varnish off, …. down to bare wood …… and then applied a “clear-coat” finish.
In the 4th picture it looks to me like the "end" of the drawer front was not stripped of its old finish.
Whenever I refinished similar oak pieces I always applied a coat of Minwax’s “Golden Oak Stain” ($7.77 32-fl oz).
-
I rarely had to take one down to bare wood but even if not I still applied stain !!

Yup to all your yups!
Nice piece! Beautiful.
The brown furniture will come back in style...just have to wait awhile!
