Title: Age of Norwegian Paper Doll sheet (DAMM Bunad Nr. 61)

I was wondering if anyone knew the age of this paper doll set from Norway.

It says "Bunad" in both the upper left and right corners (which I know is a term that refers to traditional clothing from the 18th and 19th centuries). In the lower right corner it says "Printed in Norway" and in the lower left corner it says "DAMM 1843 Nr. 61".

This came from my wife's grandmother's estate (she and her husband were both children of Norwegian immigrants). A couple of my wife's aunts thought this was printed in 1843 (due to the date in the lower right corner), which is possible because their family was in the United States by that time, however, given the excellent condition of the paper I have serious doubts that it is that old.

Any information would be appreciated!

According to the style of dress,, no it is not that old !!  Looks more 50`s or 60`s style !!

In my Opinion The hairstyles and undergarments on the 2 paper dolls would reflect 1940s in the USA. I am not sure if Norwegian styles and graphics would have been comparable.

You are correct in doubting the aunt’s 1843 date.

Don`t think that is a date !!  Probably a style number !! Paper dolls were printed by the hundreds,, they didn`t last long once kids started playing with them !!

I believe 1843 probably refers to the date the publishing company was established.

I am pondering if yours is an uncut page like it is suggested on several sites where there is only 1/2 a page.
