Came across this Brass stove, i could not find one like this online. Any thoughts? Any info?
-
I’ll guess and say it looks like a “warmer” or ”heater” for a tabletop teakettle of water, coffee or whatever.
So, now tell us, what are is dimensions?
-
You said you "came across" it !! From where,, looks like something used in the UK for High Tea,, maybe at a restaurant or hotel !!
Few of the higher end hotels here also have High Tea !! Water in the kettle cups and saucers on the tray to stay warm !!
Looking at the legs/feet it appears to have sat on something to make it portable !! I am guessing a coal burner ??
Anything stamped on the bottom ??
-
bottom to the shelf is about 24"
no marks on it.
-
What a load of brass! My arms hurt just looking at it...... ;)

You didn`t say where you "came across" it !!

Try looking up "Antique Brass Turkish Stove with Warming Tray" and "Antique Brass Turkish Brazier".
You will see many kinds. From small to large. A vital part of daily life for many countries.

Just found this site...

Well,, I would have guessed anything except Chinese !! Glad you found it !! I looked at everything I could think of and found nothing similar !!
-
I'm not sold that it is Chinese. The feet are not typical Chinese style.
The one in the listing has similar components but if there aren't others with like components....
-
Could be something imported into China rather than something made there !! I do not see Chinese influence in the style either !! Everything I see says English to me !!
-
I don’t think I would build a fire in that “stove” while it was sitting on the table. 😊
But this would be OK to use ……. and safe …..

Maybe it should be called a …. “Vintage tea coffee carafe chafing pot”

You are probably right Cogar !! I think they just put hot coals in it so to keep the coffee, cups ect warm but Sterno would sure be cleaner !!
-
You're right Mart. This was made to put hot coals in to keep the pot hot and warm buns/rolls (not the hiney kind!)
-
LOL ! Its been ages since I have heard that term KC ! However,,,remember backing up to the heater !Would sure warm the hiney !
-
Showing my age! LOLOL

With the risk of offending everyone, I can’t help but remember “Hilda” the pin-up calendar girl from 50+ years ago. :) ::)
