Title: Persian/Heriz Rug

Can anyone tell me what the human/animal figures in this rug are called?  I like them and would like to find more rugs with similar figures.  Greatly appreciate it.

From the looks of tha animals, me thinks maybe you have a New World rug, ……. like so:
