I have this ceramic piece with what I think is a handpainted scene (or it could just be some kind of a cheap "Made in China" design...) Just wondering what are your thoughts on this item? I think it must be a canister lid or something but I don't know. I have attached a few photos. Also wondering if there would be any value in this type of thing? I know it's minimal.. is it worth selling, keeping even?

Appears to be an example of "Geisha Girl" porcelain. Probably a cover for a powder jar from a dresser set?

No age to it ! But is pretty ! Not a stain or anything on the underside to say old !

Thanks you two. Very good information. I never would have found any of that stuff - I have had this thing for years and have tried researching it a few times but without knowing the proper "terms" it's very difficult. One search of "Geisha Girl" led me to a few different items with very similar designs. Same little huts and pink whatever those are.
