Title: lutke gun display case
Post by: mcolella on September 11, 2007, 09:27:11 am
I have an antique gun display case, the type that would have been found in a gun shop, not a  residence. It was made by a company called Lutke out of Portlland Or. and appears to be circa early 1900's. There seems to have been a pulley system of some kind that perhaps raised and lowered a shelf as the lid was opened and closed, also serving as a counterweight for the rather large and heavy glass and oak lid. There are a couple of pulleys and pulley brackets remaining in the case but I have not been able to figure out how they may have been used.

Is anyone familiar with this type of mechanism in any type of antique display case?
