Title: Need help identifying doll

My father-in-law grew up playing with this doll that he called Peanut. I believe that is its real name. I cannot find any info on this doll, so if anyone has info please let me know. The head and hands are a hard substance similar to ceramic. (http://)

Sometimes one can find an identifying "mark" on the lower portion of the back of the head/neck.

Carefully ....... check underneath the fabric.
