Title: Fireplace companion set
Post by: hayjay84 on January 28, 2009, 11:32:57 am
Hi just wondered if anyone can help me. I have an old cast iron fireside companion set. It has no visible markings and has a straw brush and 2 other pieces. I have enclosed a photograph so if anyone has any idea of value it would be much appreciated.

Thank you

I see similar at flea markets, etc. and they are usually $20-$40. Yours appears older though and I would expect it to bring more, perhaps double $40-$80

I've seen andirons crudely made of iron and coming from the Mission Oak period.
