Title: Help identifying Block Print Artist
Post by: cindyv11 on July 08, 2009, 07:30:10 pm
I hoped someone might be able to help me identify the artist of a hand painted block print that was purchased at an art gallery in Hawaii in 1985.  I think it is signed EVANS. I have searched and searched and can't find anything.  Appreciate any help anyone  can offer.  Thanks

The akialoa is a finch located on the island of Linai and was found on others prior to human takeover.

There is an Evans that does block prints of flowers in CA and has done some butterflies...but not birds.

Go to the islands often and there are places on Hawaii that even offer Block Printing classes....so it could just be a local artisan.  Do you know what gallery and what island?
