It is marked "SP On Copper". Can anyone tell me what this is?
-
looks like something for a trumpet, goes in the front should modify the sound or something im not sure though
-
I would guess an antique auto vase / car vase with missing bracket. I think the sp on copper stands for silver plate on copper.

I'm wondering if the 'sp on cop' is on the inside , or the outside of your item , ifs .
Might also be part of a centerpiece (floral) .
Most of the bud vases (automotive) I've seen are glass , so I don't know for sure on the good suggestion/guess by wendy .

Wish I knew, been trying to figure it out, the only things comes to mind, is maybe it is missing a stand and would serve as a vase. Very unusual for sure

Fancypants the ones I have seen are glass also. But I found a site and the people have been collecting them for 20 years & they do state some are made of metal ,porcelain & wood . www.classicdreamcar s.com Was news to me also!! that's what I like about this site so many people like you & Ironlord know so much and bounce ideas & knowledge off each other. Really I need to work twice as hard to keep up.

Yes wendy , I too think it's a good little site , even with the occasional hissy-fits .
I'd heard that auto bud vases were also made of metal & wood , but never have seen - only have seen porc. & glass .... not really my focal area , but interesting .
