Hi, Can anyone tell me what this is ? It's a soft metal and is engraved with game, a hunter and table settings. What is it ? I'm thinking that it is perhaps a serving dish ? Or something that was displayed ? It has 3 makers mark s on the back. Any help would be appreciated and also a ballpark figure on it's worth ?
Thanks much.

It appears to be a pewter plate or charger .
What is its' diameter ?
Does one of the hallmarks depict a rose & crown ?

Did find some items sold with the reference (sort of) to Elias Beyer

At Kovel's site ( not a member, so can't access prices)

Your angel with the sword and scales is the quality touch mark:
ANGEL: The Angel mark on pewter is of Continental origin, broadly speaking. It is seldom seen on English pewter. This touch-mark is used in conj unction with the maker's mark. The Angel may be flying, or standing with a palm branch in hand or with sword and scales. The use of this mark was strictly reserved for metal of the finest quality. It was adopted throughout most European countries, except France, as a sign of the very best, from the middle of the 17th century.

Can you photograph the additional touchmarks?

Seriously?? I just figured it's like all the rest.......pay a wad for 24 hours, your life savings for a week or your first born for a month :P

No, Kovels is free. Only problem I have is, say for instance, this plate they have that sold for $80...there isn't a picture for it! So it is a good reference for pricing BUT there really isn't an actual comparison visually. BUT it is worth joining. I don't get junk ads or mail from it so that is a plus-plus.

Ok, I fixed my camera and got some more pics and of the 3rd makers marm. I think the other 2 are identical. Also, the plate is 12 inches in diameter. Thanks everyone for your interest.
