I heard these were from around either the WWI or Spanish-American War Era. On the back of the upper-left corner it is marked "9446". Can anyone help identify these?
-
48 stars in the flags are a good clue.
-
Rail has the deciding factor here. 48 stars puts them at 1912+. I would say WWI. I like the cast iron and original paint, (makes them more valuable). The anchor would lead me to Navy, Coast Guard or Marines but they would work great for any serviceperson, past or present. I like 'em.

Dark Rust spot's. are and indicator of ''OLD'' metal. New metal rust is orange in color. yes they are nice.
-
Thanks very much everyone. How much do you think I could get for these?
-
Really nice....if you can find the branch of military it represents.....it will be worth more on those collector sites!
-
That would be great if anyone could figure out what branch of military it represents. I forgot to mention the little metal piece that props it up in place can move around, so this can be mounted on a wall as well.
-
I would be asking. $ 50.00 to $ 75.00 Dollars for the pair.

I seriously love these frames, if I had the money right now I'd buy them from you!
-
Thanks hosman and thanks again to everyone for all the help!
-
Is this yours for sale?

I haven't posted mine for sale yet, but thanks for sharing that! It seems to be the same frame as both of the ones I have. The listing says "for portraits of those serving in that war in the Navy", so I am going assume that is the correct information.
-
Yea, my dad remembers items like this for the Navy!
-
They're charging quite a bit for just one of those frames on the link you shared. I just listed mine over at iOffer for $199.99, but for anyone on here I'll give a better price. Thanks to all of you for the help!
