Can anyone help get some information on this piece?
-
Any markings? Looks like a crude foreign dagger. Blade might be damascus but is too blurry to tell. Maybe post some clearer photos using the camera on a tripod for a sharp image.
-
Sadly there are no markings. I'm going to try and take some clearer pictures.

Can't tell much from the images , so far .
It looks like a handmade kris , or a straight dagger that was 'worked' to appear as a kris .
Looking 4ward to the new images .

I believe this is called a Kris. It could be Phillipine or Mid-Eastern or anywhere between. Modern copies of the Kris (kris?) are being made, I never could figure the need for a "curly" blade but to each his own, you might Google "kris", Wikipedia may have a description that you could compare with yours. Hope this helps. Jon

This dagger has a curvy style similar to a Kris, but its manufacturing process and fittings have no resemblance to that weapon which is very specific to the culture that produces them, some are very ornately decorated, but all have heavily worked damascus type layered steel blades. My thoughts on this one is that its not that old and something that came on the market in the 60's or 70's as a belt/boot knife. Ive posted the photos on a couple of other sites for other opinions as well. Better photos would help of course.
Okay Ive got several responses all leading to WWII to post war Phillipines production, the leather was leading me in that area as well. Ballpark value $50 or so.

I was going to comment but the best I can muster is the sheath looks nice.

I agree with regjoe...looks homemade/handmade to me! Hard to figure a timeline/info on items like this!

Any idea how much I should sell this for?

Any chance this might be a replica of a Flame Dagger (if such a thing did exist)?

It looks very similar, but mine does not look like something that would have been mass produced or anything like that. It seems to be homemade like the others said. It's not very ornate looking as opposed to something that would be made to look like a replica knife.

Sorry ifs, I should have been more clear. I meant could yours possibly be a more recent, working version of the described Flame dagger. I used the links to illustrate what they apparently looked like. Sorry for the confusion.......you rs definitely appears hand made and having been put to use by it's owner.
