Title: Floor Lamp
Post by: cyrus on January 05, 2010, 04:38:53 pm
I have a floor lamp I picked up at a garage sale. I know it has some worth , but just what range it is in I do not know. I have attached photo's. Can anyone help with this?

That is a neat lamp.  Personally, I would rewire it, get a correct period shade, and use it.

Wow, I LOVE that lamp. It would match my new bird cage! Just kiddin'.  ;)
May I ask how much you paid for it? I bet you got a good deal at a garage sale.

I still would rewire it with new wire.  I just do not trust old wire on an old lamp.  Sometimes the checking/cracking is not real visible to the naked eye.  As for the shade, I have seen some that look Victorian with hanging fringe around them.  I am not sure myself so I would search through old catalogs to see what originally went on them (something like a Sears repro catalog from the early 1900s).

That's and Art Deco stick lamp. if it were mine. I would be asking $350.00 Dollars.

Would it be possible to see the shade that was on it.  If original I would like to see a sample of Art Deco shade.  Art Deco period would be a early lamp in the time frame of electric lamps.  I would of guess later date.
