I have never been able to think of the day as one of mourning; I have never quite been able to feel that half-masted flags were appropriate on Decoration Day.
I have rather felt that the flag should be at the peak, because those whose dying we commemorate rejoiced in seeing it where their valor placed it.
We honor them in a joyous, thankful, triumphant commemoration of what they did.
~Benjamin Harrison
Who kept the faith and fought the fight;
The glory theirs, the duty ours.
~Wallace Bruce
Have a memorable and joyous day!

Happy Belated Birthday USAers !!
Tales, you made me snort my pepsi! I'll add another to the list of warnings. A safe way to light fireworks from your yard is to fill a wheelbarrow with sand and set them off from there............ju st don't store your unused ones under the wheelbarrow! Our neighbor's lawn will never look quite the same. :'(

sapphire, made me snort my tea!!!! Can imagine the neighbor thinking the wheelbarrow was safe to store under!
