Welcome , chateaubev .

The two stylized (rather elongated) asian figurines are somewhat reminiscent of other like items , that I've seen through the years , produced in the first half of the 20th century .

Although I'm guessing that you've got your hands full , dealing with your hotel purchase , perhaps you could take some time to inspect all of the items you posted about (with a magnifying lens) & see if you can find any signatures/makers' marks .

I have not yet been able to identify the script on the large (plant stand?) item , but it does somewhat resemble either Chinese 'Kaishu' (std. script) or 'Jiantizi' (modern simplified) .

I'll let you know what I find , in the days to come .

Thanks for posting your cool attic finds !

If you can remove the figures from the wood base you might be able to see the grain on the bottom if they are ivory. Also the figures are kind of curved which would make sense if they are carved from elephant tusk.

Anyway here is another of the findings in my attic, we have been on line and found out that the Nuremberg furth was the first steam train line in Germany, which was the date on the case 1835. We do not know is how this bag was in hotel? What we do know is that in the war in the 30's 40's their was a German presence in this area at the time.

Many thanks

Fay
